Downers Grove Kitchen Remodeling

Downers Grove Kitchen Remodeling

This Chicago suburbs high-rise got a beautiful new modern kitchen with a matching dining area. Many aspects of this Downers Grove kitchen remodeling were exciting to create with its unique, sleek design. What exactly did we do to achieve this look? Read on for the full breakdown!

As with many modern designs, the first thing to note is the contrasting color palette, mainly the light ceiling with dark walls and even darker furniture and cabinetry. The elevated kitchen island supports breakfast bar seating for three with mid-century modern furniture. Vertical gray subway tile gives the backsplash a modern feel. A warm dark gray wall color complements the dark woods of the kitchen and dining area design. Near-black custom cabinetry feature a flat design and minimalist hardware in true modern fashion, with select cabinets sporting semi-transparent glass fronts. A tray ceiling draws the attention to the clean, sleek lighting. These curved fixtures above the island and dining room table help to break up the harsher lines of the boxy design elements below.

We always say that the kitchen is the heart of the home, and the design should reflect that. Good design is not just about choosing the right colors – it’s about creating a space that works well and makes actions easier. Lisle Kitchen Remodeling

Lisle Kitchen Remodeling

Lisle Kitchen Remodeling

Traditional or country-style kitchens are one of the most popular styles requested by clients who are remodeling. However, this Lisle kitchen remodeling project went in a more contemporary direction, and the results are great. Read on to learn how we changed this space to a great new, modern kitchen.

The homeowners here went for a contrasting and bold look. To translate this vision into their kitchen, we chose a palette of black and white with some neutral elements added in for depth. For the custom cabinets, we went with black, which makes the kitchen very unique. The countertop and kitchen backsplash tile are the same white quartz, bringing a lot of the wanted contrast but also with a bit of black mixed into the surface. Hardware for the cabinets was also done in a light color to create more of that bold look. Towards the middle, a white semi-transparent display cabinet creates a great accent that immediately draws the eye. Finally, a light hardwood floor was used to bring texture to the room. Storage space was also an important design issue to tackle, but this sleek design language made it easy for space to be streamlined. Extra cabinets were worked into the refrigerator nook, which really helped to maximize the size of the kitchen.

We always say that the kitchen is the heart of the home, and the design should reflect that. Good design is not just about choosing the right colors – it’s about creating a space that works well and makes actions easier. Brookfield Kitchen Remodeling

Brookfield Kitchen Remodeling

Brookfield Kitchen Remodeling

This kitchen in Brookfield was transformed from your standard space to a serene oasis that is a joy to cook and gather in. The homeowners took a chance on color but it turned out beautifully! Read on to find out more about what we did.

The homeowners requested a design that felt comfortable and relaxing, and the center of the design language became these robin egg blue walls for this Brookfield kitchen remodeling. With this brighter canvas, the accompanying pieces in the kitchen needed to be neutral. Off-white custom cabinets were placed throughout the entire kitchen, as well as natural white backsplash tile on the walls. A gray-white granite countertop helped to break up all of the white space. We went with traditional-style hardware on the cabinets so the kitchen still retained a traditional feel, even with the bright wall color. Finally, a medium hardwood floor was installed to add texture and depth to the room. Together, the blue, off-white, and brown palette helps to balance the entire room so nothing is too overpowering.

We always say that the kitchen is the heart of the home, and the design should reflect that. Good design is not just about choosing the right colors – it’s about creating a space that works well and makes actions easier. La Grange Park Kitchen Remodeling

La Grange Park Kitchen Remodeling

A local La Grange Park kitchen remodeling project got a complete makeover from Meeder! One of the biggest trends in kitchen design today is light, bright, and white, which is exactly what this space got. More about this kitchen below!

Color has long been known to affect mood. Incorporating lighter colors into a room helps to create a more uplifting atmosphere, as well as the added benefit of making the space feel larger. Custom cabinets were designed with a white finish to add to this effect. In contrast, dark accents such as the stove range hood and black hardware help to break up the neutral color scheme. Additionally, a beautiful new hardwood floor was brought in for a luxurious touch. The kitchen tile got a unique spin with large granite slabs to match the countertop in one continuous design, with accent backsplash tile throughout the space.

We always say that the kitchen is the heart of the home, and the design should reflect that. Good design is not just about choosing the right colors – it’s about creating a space that works well and makes actions easier. Westchester Kitchen Remodeling

Westchester Kitchen Remodeling

Westchester Kitchen Remodeling

This Westchester kitchen remodeling project needed a lot of work. Outdated design and a cramped space made for a kitchen that just didn’t sit right with the family. So, we had to roll up our sleeves and start thinking like a family of cooks. Read on to find out how we revamped this entire room!

As in many home kitchens, storage and working space is always an issue. We like to make sure any storage we put in is both ample and convenient for the users. In this kitchen, we took advantage of every corner that could be used for cabinets. An island with even more room for drawers and shelves (not pictured) was added with a unique country panel design. The island also helped to solve the work area issue. Pendant lights were installed above for lighting while preparing food or for guests to gather around. A contrast was built between the stainless steel and black appliances and hardware with white cabinetry and light yellow walls. The backsplash tile and granite countertop balanced the two in a happy middle ground. New windows were also installed to allow more natural light.

We always say that the kitchen is the heart of the home, and the design should reflect that. Good design is not just about choosing the right colors – it’s about creating a space that works well and makes actions easier. Elmhurst Kitchen Remodeling

Elmhurst Kitchen Remodeling

Elmhurst Kitchen Remodeling

The kitchen is usually the busiest part of the house! Since everyone in the family uses it – not to mention guests when you’re hosting – it needs a bit of attention every now and then. With this Elmhurst kitchen remodeling project, the family space went from lack of working space to a warm and welcoming hub! Read on to find out what we did.

In order to fit in perfectly with the rest of the house’s design and style, the kitchen was remodeled with a traditional look with modern touches here and there. Storage was optimized with shelves and drawers nestled within the kitchen island. Traditional dark hardwood custom cabinets help the kitchen feel warmer, while the white island prevents everything feeling too dark. The refrigerator also received a custom cabinet integrated design, perfect for any fan of traditional style. While the cabinet hardware also retains the traditional style, black appliances and sleek plumbing hardware give the entire kitchen an updated, modern look. The dark granite countertop ties the entire kitchen together – the dark green and black colors pair wonderfully with the different cabinet styles to become one cohesive design.

We always say that the kitchen is the heart of the home, and the design should reflect that. Good design is not just about choosing the right colors – it’s about creating a space that works well and makes actions easier. To make the kitchen feel more like an all-inclusive family space, an island with a breakfast bar was added for an alternative to the dining room. Meeder Design & Remodeling has over 40 years of experience in the western Chicago suburbs area, including Elmhurst.
